AI Showrunner
Drop in an agenda, a run-of-show doc, or a speaker script and AI Showrunner builds your rundown — sessions, durations, speakers, schedules, even teleprompter scripts and polls — in seconds. You review and edit a draft; you never build one from scratch.
AI Showrunner uses Claude (Anthropic). Files are parsed in your browser — only the extracted text and anything you paste is sent to the model. See Privacy below.
How to use it
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open **AI Showrunner** from your dashboard (the ✨ AI Showrunner card). |
| 2 | **Paste** your agenda or **drop files** (PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV) — or both together. |
| 3 | Pick the event to build into, then click **Generate**. |
| 4 | **Review and edit** the draft — every field is editable, and you can include or exclude each session. |
| 5 | **Refine** in plain English (e.g. "shorten breaks to 5 minutes") to re-run with your change. |
| 6 | **Save** — the rundown is added to your event using your normal limits. |
A quick example
No tidy table required — Showrunner reads plain, messy notes. Paste something as loose as this:
thursday saas summit. opening keynote 9am from sarah at acme — 30 min. lunch break around noon. 3 breakouts after lunch (devops, frontend, ai/ml). sponsor reel between sessions. closing panel at 4 with q&a. wrap by 5.
…and AI Showrunner returns a structured rundown — an opening keynote (Sarah from Acme, ~30 min, 9:00), a lunch break around noon, three breakout sessions (DevOps, Frontend, AI/ML), a sponsor segment between sessions, and a closing panel with Q&A at 4:00 — each with a sensible duration and start mode already filled in. Tweak anything, then save.
Get the best results
| Do this | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Include times and durations | Showrunner anchors start times and fills durations instead of guessing. |
| Name your speakers | Speaker names get attached to the right sessions. |
| Give each item a clear title | Cleaner session names and fewer ambiguous merges. |
| Messy notes are fine | No need for perfect formatting — bullet points and rough notes work. |
| One event per generation | Showrunner builds a single rundown at a time. Run it again for the next event. |
What it builds for you
- Sessions — title, speaker, duration, start time and start mode (manual / linked / scheduled), count up or down, fixed-duration or end-at-a-time, break vs. normal, labels, card color, and notes.
- Teleprompter scripts — pulled straight from your documents and attached to the matching session. Scripts are only ever extracted from what you provide — never invented.
- Polls — question, type, and options, ready to run during the session.
- Sponsor mentions — matched against your sponsor library, never invented; an unknown sponsor surfaces as a warning, not a fake logo or URL.
- Event settings — timezone and time format when they're stated.
- Warnings — Showrunner flags anything ambiguous (an unclear start time, an overlapping slot, a script with no matching session) so you can fix it before saving.
Supported files
| Input | Notes |
|---|---|
| Paste text | Type or paste an agenda directly — no file needed. |
| Text-based PDFs. Scanned / image-only PDFs can't be read (see below). | |
| .docx | Word documents, including embedded speaker scripts. |
| .txt | Plain text. |
| .md / .markdown | Markdown. |
| .csv | Comma-separated agendas or session lists. |
Spreadsheets (.xlsx), slide decks (.pptx), images, and scanned or image-only PDFs can't be read — paste the text instead. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Work from multiple files
You don't have to consolidate everything first. Drop your run-of-show DOCX, a couple of speaker scripts, and a CSV of sessions together — Showrunner reads them all in one generation, merges them into a single rundown, and attaches each script to its session. You can also paste text and attach files in the same run.
Combining files & size limits
Showrunner reads a lot, but there are limits so generations stay fast and accurate:
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Files per generation | Up to 20 |
| Per file | 30,000 characters of text · 5 MB |
| Combined (paste + all files) | 50,000 characters total |
The 50,000-character cap applies to everything together — your pasted text plus every attached file. Nothing is silently cut: if the combined total goes over, the character counter turns red and Generate is disabled until you trim. So a paste and a file that are each fine on their own can still push you over when combined — remove or shorten an input to get back under 50,000.
Refining your rundown
After Showrunner generates a draft, use the Refine bar to adjust it in plain English — no rebuilding. Type a short instruction and Showrunner re-runs on the draft and returns an updated rundown. Repeat until it's right.
| Try saying… | What happens |
|---|---|
| "shorten the breaks to 5 minutes" | Break durations update; everything else stays. |
| "add a Q&A after the keynote" | A new Q&A session is inserted in the right place. |
| "merge the two morning sessions" | The sessions combine into one. |
| "move the panel to the end" | The panel is reordered, timing preserved where possible. |
Refine works from Showrunner's last AI draft, so describe the change you want — you don't need to re-paste your whole agenda.
You're always in control
Showrunner produces a draft you review — nothing saves until you say so:
- Every field is editable before saving.
- Toggle any session in or out of the save.
- The ✨ cue shows what the AI inferred, and from which file.
- Warnings call out anything ambiguous.
- Saving uses your normal event limits and safeguards.
What it won't do
| Showrunner will not… | Instead |
|---|---|
| Invent teleprompter scripts | Scripts are only extracted from files you provide. |
| Read images or scanned PDFs | Paste the text, or upload a text-based PDF/DOCX. |
| Exceed your plan's caps | It builds within your limits and flags anything trimmed. |
| Save without your review | You always confirm the draft before anything is added. |
How it handles times: Showrunner infers each session's start mode — manual (you press go), linked (auto-starts when the previous session ends), or scheduled (a fixed wall-clock time). When a time is ambiguous it makes a conservative choice and adds a warning explaining it, so you can confirm or change it.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Can't read scanned PDFs" | The PDF is image-only — copy the text and paste it instead. |
| "PDF needs a password" | Remove the password or export an unlocked copy, then re-upload. |
| Counter is red / Generate disabled | Combined paste + files exceed 50,000 characters — trim text or remove a file. |
| Unsupported file type | Convert to PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, or CSV — or paste the text. |
| A start time or duration is off | Edit the field directly, or Refine (e.g. "the keynote is 30 minutes"). |
Privacy
Files are parsed in your browser — the original file never leaves your device. Only the extracted text and anything you paste is sent to Claude (Anthropic) to build the rundown, and Anthropic does not train its models on it. See the Anthropic integration notes and our Privacy Policy.
Plans & limits
AI Showrunner runs on a monthly AI credit allowance that depends on your plan, plus a daily fair-use limit. Your remaining credits are shown on the AI Showrunner card. For what each plan includes, see Pricing.
