Event Management
Events (called Rooms in Tevyr) are the top-level containers for everything — sessions, timers, messages, Q&A, polls, and output links. This guide covers creating, editing, duplicating, and managing events from your dashboard.
Dashboard
The dashboard is your home base. It shows all your events, lets you create new ones, and gives quick access to each event's controller.
Event Cards
Each event appears as a card showing:
- Timer preview — A miniature display with the event's colors and a progress bar
- Event title and stats (number of timers, messages, outputs, timezone)
- Last updated date
- Open button — Opens the Master Controller in a new tab
Pinned Events
Pin frequently-used events to keep them at the top of the list. Click the menu (three dots) on any event card and select Pin. Pinned events always appear first, regardless of sort order.
Search and Sort
- Search — Filter events by title or passcode
- Sort — Choose between Last Used (default), Name, or Created Date
Creating an Event
Click Create Room on the dashboard. You'll have two options:
Start from Scratch
Fill in the event form:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Event Title | Yes | The name of your event — displayed on screens and in the dashboard |
| Passcode | Yes | A 6-digit numeric code, auto-generated. Used in screen and controller URLs. Can be regenerated. |
| Company Name | No | Displayed on presentation screens for branding |
| Default Duration | Yes | Default timer length for new sessions (1–600 minutes, default: 30) |
| Warning Threshold | Yes | Minutes remaining when the timer turns orange (default: 5) |
You can also add sessions directly during creation — see the Sessions & Timers guide for details on session fields.
Import from CSV
Upload a CSV file containing your full event schedule. Tevyr auto-detects session data including start times, durations, titles, speakers, notes, and labels.
- A CSV template is available for download in the creation form
- Sessions beyond your plan's limit are skipped with a warning
- Event metadata (company name, timezone, date) can also be included in the CSV
CSV import is the fastest way to set up large events. Export your schedule from a spreadsheet, download the template to see the expected format, and upload it directly.
Data Import & Export
Tevyr provides several ways to get data into and out of the platform. Here is a summary of all import and export capabilities:
| Data | Import | Export | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sessions | ✓ CSV | — | Full event schedule with metadata, speakers, durations, labels. See Sessions & Timers |
| Activity Logs | — | ✓ CSV, Clipboard | Complete audit trail with timestamps, actors, and action details. See Activity Logs |
| Poll Results | — | ✓ CSV, Clipboard | Vote counts, percentages, leaderboards, and timeline data. See Polling |
| Questions | — | ✓ Via Activity Logs | Question submissions are logged with timestamps and content in the activity log |
| Ad-hoc Timers | — | ✓ Via Activity Logs | Timer actions (start, pause, reset) are captured in the activity log |
| Messages | — | ✓ Via Activity Logs | Message sends and clears are logged with content and target screen |
Editing an Event
Open any event from the dashboard to access its settings page. From here you can modify:
Basic Information
- Event title and company name
- Default duration and warning threshold
Display Options
Toggle what appears on presentation screens:
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Show current time | On | Display the current time of day on screens |
| Show date | Off | Display today's date on screens |
| Show pending sessions | On | Show upcoming sessions on speaker screens |
| Enable audience voting | Off | Allow audience to participate in polls |
Color Scheme
Choose from preset themes (Dark, Light, Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Red) or set custom colors:
- Background color — Main screen background
- Text color — Timer digits and text
- Accent color — Highlights like the event title
A live preview updates in real time as you adjust colors, showing how "30:00" will look on screen.
Duplicating an Event
Click the menu (three dots) on any event card and select Duplicate. This creates a copy of the event with all its settings, sessions, and configuration — but with a new passcode. Use this to quickly set up similar events without starting from scratch.
Duplicating counts toward your event limit. If you've reached your plan's maximum, you'll need to delete an existing event or upgrade first.
Deleting an Event
From the event settings page, click Delete Event at the bottom. A confirmation dialog will appear — this action is permanent and removes the event along with all its sessions, questions, messages, and output settings.
Opening the Controller
Every event has a Master Control Panel — the real-time command center for running the event. You can open it in two ways:
- Click Open on the event card in the dashboard
- Click Open Control Panel on the event settings page
The controller opens in a new browser tab. From there, you have access to all features: timer controls, session management, messages, effects, Q&A, polling, teleprompter, sponsor wall, iFrames, output links, live connections, and keyboard shortcuts.
Plan Limits
The number of events you can create depends on your subscription plan:
| Starter (Free) | Basic | Premium | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Events | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Sessions per event | 3 | 50 | 500 | Unlimited |
| Messages | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Output connections | 3 | 10 | 50 | Unlimited |
| Questions | 3 | 200 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
When you reach your event limit, the Create Room button is disabled. You can free up a slot by deleting an existing event, or upgrade your plan for more capacity.
Continue Where You Left Off
When you return to the dashboard, Tevyr shows a "Continue Where You Left Off" banner with the last event you were working on. Click Open to jump straight back into the controller.
