Link Options
Every output link you generate can be customized with display settings, colors, fonts, and more. You configure these options when creating the link — they are saved into the URL itself, so each link can look and behave differently.
Open the Output Links panel from the Event dropdown, select your output type, and configure the options before generating the link. You can also edit options on existing links.
General Options
Available on all plans and all output types.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Device name | A custom label that identifies this screen in the Live Connections list. Give each screen a recognizable name like “Stage Left,” “Lobby TV,” or “Green Room.” |
| Mirror | Flip the display horizontally, vertically, or both. Use horizontal when the screen reflects off teleprompter glass, so text reads correctly. |
| Delay | Delay the timer by a number of seconds. Useful for compensating for broadcast or streaming delay, so the timer on the live stream matches the actual time remaining. |
| Time zone | Override which time zone the clock displays for this specific link. This overrides the event-wide timezone set in Room Settings. Helpful when one screen is in a different time zone than your event (e.g., remote speakers in another city). See Room Settings for the global timezone. |
| Hide hover controls | Remove the interactive controls that appear when you move your mouse over the screen. Ideal for unattended displays and kiosks where you don’t want someone accidentally clicking buttons. |
Display Settings
Control what information appears on presentation screens (Speaker, Audience, Staff).
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Content mode | All | Show everything, or limit the screen to show only the timer, only messages, or only questions. Useful when you want a dedicated “questions only” screen next to the speaker. |
| Show time of day | On | Display a clock showing the current time |
| Show date | Off | Display today’s date on screen |
| Show event title | Off | Display the event name at the top of the screen |
| Show session info | On | Display the current session title and speaker name |
| Show time zone label | Off | Show the time zone abbreviation next to the clock (e.g., EST, PST, GMT) |
Background
Customize the screen background to match your event branding.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Background type | Choose between a solid color, an uploaded image, or transparent (no background at all) |
| Background color | Pick any color for the background when using solid color mode (default: dark grey) |
| Background image | Upload a custom image to use as the screen background — great for branded event slides |
Use transparent background when embedding the timer as an overlay in OBS, vMix, or other streaming software. The timer will float over your stream content with no visible background.
Theme Colors
Set the global text and accent colors for the screen.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Text color | The main color used for all text on screen (default: white) |
| Accent color | A highlight color used for interactive elements, indicators, and emphasis (default: blue) |
Aspect Ratio
Match the timer display to your screen's shape.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | Choose a standard ratio (16:9, 21:9, 4:3, 1:1, 9:16) or enter a custom ratio. Most projectors and modern TVs are 16:9. |
| Custom width and height | When using a custom ratio, enter the width and height values (e.g., 32 and 9 for an ultra-wide LED wall). |
| Enforce ratio | Add black bars (letterbox or pillarbox) to force the content into the exact ratio, even if the physical screen doesn’t match. Prevents stretching or cropping. |
Blackout Settings
Customize what screens show during a blackout — when you temporarily blank all displays (for example, during a break or before the event starts).
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Blackout display | What to show during blackout: a solid color, an image (like a “We’ll be right back” slide or sponsor logo), or your normal background |
| Blackout color | The solid color to show during blackout (default: black) |
| Blackout image | Upload an image to display during blackout — perfect for break slides, sponsor logos, or a “Starting soon” graphic |
| Show clock during blackout | Keep the current time of day visible even when the screen is blacked out — helpful so the audience knows when the break ends |
Timer Styling
Customize how the countdown timer looks on screen.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Font | Choose the typeface for the countdown digits |
| Font weight | How thick the digits appear: light, regular, medium, semibold, or bold |
| Timer size | How large the digits display: small, medium, or large |
| Normal color | The digit color during normal countdown time |
| Warning color | The digit color when approaching the end (warning zone) — typically yellow or orange |
| Critical color | The digit color when time is almost up or the speaker is in overtime — typically red |
| Text contrast | Add a shadow or outline behind the digits for better readability on bright or busy backgrounds |
Progress Bar
Customize the colors of the progress bar that shows how far through a session the speaker is.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Normal color | The bar color during the safe zone — plenty of time remaining (default: green) |
| Warning color | The bar color when time is running low (default: orange) |
| Critical color | The bar color when time is almost up or in overtime (default: red) |
Message Styling
Customize how messages from the operator appear on screen. Messages are text announcements you send to specific screens during the event.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Font | Typeface used for message text |
| Font weight | Thickness of the message text |
| Normal color | Text color for standard messages |
| Warning color | Text color for warning-level messages |
| Critical color | Text color for urgent messages |
| Alignment | Position the message text: left, center, or right |
| Text contrast | Add a shadow or outline for better readability on bright backgrounds |
Question Styling
Customize how audience questions appear when displayed on the presentation screens.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Font | Typeface used for question text |
| Font weight | Thickness of the question text |
| Color | Text color for displayed questions |
| Alignment | Position the question text: left, center, or right |
| Text contrast | Add a shadow or outline for readability |
| Display style | Show questions as a styled card (with a background panel) or as plain text like a message |
| Stacking | When using card style: show all approved questions stacked, or show only the latest one at a time |
Security
Every output link is protected to prevent unauthorized access or tampering.
- Tamper-proof links — Every link is digitally signed. If anyone tries to modify the URL to change settings or access a different event, the link will stop working.
- Password protection — Add a password to any output link. Visitors must enter the correct password before they can see anything. Passwords are securely stored on the server — never in the URL.
- Short links — Generate memorable short URLs that are easy to share. Short links always redirect within the same secure domain.
- Server-side settings — Sensitive settings like passwords, logos, and layout configurations are stored on the server, not embedded in the URL. This prevents anyone from extracting or modifying them.
